Q: After one season my back hose is deteriorating - anyone else have this problem?

I've had the same problem. Purchased last year about same time. Hose was not left out side after growing season done. Was stored in garden shed.

Q: Do you have to use the garden hose that comes with it, or will another hose work? (i'd prefer a brown garden hose to hide better)

The garden hose within the Snip-n-Drip is ½" and most garden hoses in the US are 5/8" and will not work in the system.

Q: What if you only want one section to soak? Is there an easy way to shut off the others?

On first thought, no. This system is really a not very easy to use or very effective. If you want to soak one area it would require a separate line. The only way it would be possible would be if only the first or first and second areas were what you wanted to soak in which case you could put a cut off valve (if you can find one that fits this size, which is smaller than conventional) and stop the water from going further. In my opinion not a very effective system at all, at least not for my needs, though I could see it working in a containter situation if you were willing to put in the work to set it up.

Q: How do I connect this to my faucet? I don't see the correct adapter?

I bought a separate adapter that has an in line filter.. if you don't have a filter, it can clog up your sprayers if you have micro sprayers.
