Q: Will it prevent my dog from gnawing a wound on her butt?

This collar will work wonders for belly / front leg incisions. If your dog is long, this won’t stop them from getting to a neuter incision. It’s is 100% more stress free on the dog though so if you aren’t dealing with a neutering, this is a great option. My dog (100lb German shepherd mix) needed two combined methods - this plus a tshirt for his rear. Just know that this won’t completely replace the cone of shame depending on your dog or the situation.

Q: how good is the Valve?

My golden has worn one for almost 3 weeks. He has scratched at it with his back legs, vigorously and it has held up fine. No valve leaking on ours at all.

Q: How to get the right size for my dog?

Measure your dog's neck. Look at images on the article next to the video is neck circumference size in inches. Our 62 lb boxer measured 17 inches and we bought a large. Also you will see in the images the inside of the collar has 3 black straps that you lace your dog's regular collar into. This secures the recovery collar on your dog. It fits good and really works.

This product allows you to secure the fit by adjusting the Velcro around your dog. As long as you can fit two or three fingers in and it is not tight on you, it should be okay for your pup. I have a 70IB dog and slept like a baby with it on. It was like his very own personal pillow lol I hope that helps!
