Wonderful read
I smiled the entire time I was reading this book. Such lovely characters. Can’t wait for the next story. Thank you Mrs. Phillips. From your fan in Denbigh, Wales.

Another cool Stars dude gets his girl
I love SEP's writing, her characters are always fun, quirky, engaging individuals and her Chicago Stars heroes are the ultimate sports jocks who manage to be authentic and yet not dicks. That's pretty hard to pull off and she does it again here with Coop Graham, a former elite sportsman who is used to getting his own way in all things but meets a woman he can't bribe, cajole, bully or seduce into submission in wannabe private detective Piper Dove. He catches her trailing him for a client, a client whose identity she refuses to reveal, because Piper has ethics, ethics that eventually lead them both on a rollercoaster ride of a relationship which takes in lashings of SEP's trademark, humour, emotion and delicious secondary character (I particularly loved the reappearance of Heath and Annabelle)! Maybe this lacked the sensational pace and wit of my favourite SEP books, but that's a minor quibble really, I devoured it in a few sittings, and fell in love with both Coop and Piper.

A Perfect Stars Story
I love SEP books and have savoured each and every one, but I had missed the Stars stories, being they were my first taste of this brilliant author and holds a special place in my reading families. First Star I See Tonight, slides right back into the series, great laugh out loud moments, a story of outstanding people, a very welcomed back to one of my favourites. Go on, give yourself a treat and enjoy.

There isn't anything not to like about this book. The author is back to writing great stories. This book keeps you in touch with old favourites while introducing new ones. I love have both POV and we get that with this. The humour is great and had me giggling away.As any good book was sad to fini it and can't wait for the next.

SEP at her best!
I have quite a few books by this author, and this is vintage, with humour, a strong hero and heroine, and a non predictable sub plot. Thoroughly recommended.

The YA Bookshelf
I normally love a Susan Elizabeth Phillips book but I wasn’t really loving this and that’s a shame. Honestly? I was about to DNF it, it was that bad for me but I was fast approaching the 170 page mark (having stuck with it hoping and praying it would turn around and get better) and I didn’t want to DNF after getting so far into First Star I See Tonight, it felt like a waste, so I carried on.It was too long winded at times, too much talk/thought and not enough going on in the book, it got boring.Although I liked Piper and her fiesty nature at the start, 200 pages in and it had started to grate on me if I’m completely honest. I love good banter-y dialogue between the leads of a book but every other interaction between Piper and Coop was banter-y/them trying to one up each other - it was tiring, I just wanted to see them have a real, honest and meaningful conversation for once. Something I still hadn’t got and I was almost 300 pages in (I got the meaningful conversation I was looking for but almost at the end of the book)Does this mean I’ll stop buying/reading Susan’s books? Heck no! I’ll still be keeping my eyes peeled for a new release from Susan because she’s the reigning queen of Romcom’s (she manages that perfect balance between laugh out loud funny yet still sexy at times as well without it feeling… like an abrupt change between the two. Her characters can go from banter-y back and forth to sexy in seconds and it’s all done flawlessly) and I do love me a good romcom, especially ones written by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
