Works shockingly well
Every once in a while you come across a tool that's incredibly satisfying to use. This is one of those tools. It made quick work of depinning a Micro-fit 3.0 connector so I could run the cable through a cable gland. Highly recommended.

Works beautifully!
I threw the pile of depinning keys back in the tool box. This thing requires no finesse or technique and is a joy to use.Just line up the prongs with the connector.Insert.Hold the tool into the connector.Press the plunger. It makes a satisfying click and the pin pops out the back.Job done! Zero frustration.

Where the heck has this been all my life???
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely amazing design! If you deal with Molex Mini-fit (white ones) or Micro-fit (black ones) connectors, you have to order this!

Works on male pins.
I used this tip without the ejector tool to remove MALE Molex Microfit 3.0 pins. It works as it should although some pins took a couple attempts to get the arms of the tool into the correct position. I think if the arms were the same height as the connector it would work every time.

Great tool
I have the original molex tool, copy molex tool and now this - and this is the first one to actually work and not piss me off constantly when in use. Highly recommended!

Precision tool, great inexpensive alternative to official molex tool
I'm using just these tips (without the tool) and they are already easier to use than the official molex tool. However, one thing that I did not realize until I was trying this out, unlike official tool, they split these out to male and female tool in separate tips.So this one I'm reviewing is specifically for male and due to the angle of the bevel on the tip (and maybe other reasons) it's not suitable for both. However, this does make it much better at a what it does as opposed to a dual purpose tool which does both male and female poorlyDo yourself a favor and get either just the tips both ST5279 and ST5280 instead of the official molex tool. You'll have a much easier time, or buy the entire tool kit if you really want it to be a breeze or just have a lot of these microfit 3 connectors you need to work on.Full discosure, I got the ST5279 model for free, but I bought ST5280 on my own.

Quick in and out
For prototyping or production, you're going to have to correct your connector wiring at some point. There are little jigs available, or you can try your luck with an awl, but the easiest and most reliable way to remove molex MX3.0 pins is to use this ejector. This ejector doesn't just make it possible to pull out the pin, it's spring loaded and ejects the pin out the back. It's easy and reliable. When you've done it a couple of times, you can insert the tool and extract the connector with one quick motion. The tool feels substantial, solid and well made. The spring loaded ejector is smooth and comfortable to use. You don't need production quantities of connectors to make these tools worthwhile. They take a lot of frustration out of pin removal.
