Q: I see that it can hold 700lbs for sitting or standing on. What about inside of the ottoman?? Not trying to overload it but papers can get quite heavy.

My wife is a musician, and the ottoman is stuffed full with heavy music sheets, not 700 lbs, but It handles it fine. The only fault that I found with this is that it is lower to the ground than seat height. So I put a plywood base with with swivel rollers to bring the ottoman up to seat level. We love the fact that the top is leather, we had one before this that was plastic leather, and it peeled down to the cloth. That item was purchased from B & B, and cost twice as much as this one. I think this is a really good buy!
