Q: can you indicate the diameter of the fixing plate at each end of the bar and how many screw holes in each as I have to replace existing similar bars

The screw plates are 3" or 7.5 cm diameter with 3 screw fitting holes, and a cover plate over that which adds about another 1/4" to the overall size. I used 1.5" No.8 screws and as i'm a 16 stone weakling, they are standing up very well. I hope this helps.

use 70mm by 40mm and make sure that you fix them to a very firm wall with raw plugs

Q: At what angle should you fit this?

Essentially at any angle, it is advisable to use good quality and long screws ( at least 3 inches ). The process is subject to having a solid background for fixing ( strong brick/stone wall or wood that's in good condition ). As a SAFETY CHECK -- drill a test hole to ascertain the internal status of the fixing area.

Q: does 61cm length bar has weight limits?

I imagine so (all such fittings, or the surfaces they're fixed, to do) - but why not ask the makers direct? As it was I never accepted/ fitted this item, since it arrived carelessly packed with loose /missing end caps (twice!) and had to returned (twice!). Sorry.
