Don't lock into place as tightly as I'd like, but I haven't had the slip- so they've done the job with the weight I've loaded. Generally a good value for the price.

I recently bought a functional trainer, name I will not mention, and the bars that hold the weight plates are 1.9" and 1.88" in diameter (yes they are different sizes). Luckily the bars slop up so that gravity keeps the plates in place; but it is a good idea to use some kind of barbell clip. The functional trainer came with clips that are the screw down type so take longer to tighten down and remove. Already had the expandable wire kind; but those clips only work with bars that are truly 2" in diameter. Which of course was disappointing knowing I would have to buy something else to get a quick release option. These do work with the bars that came with the new machine. If needed I could wrap some self sealing plumbers tape in 3 places on the clips which would reduce the inside of each clip allowing it to hold even tighter. This would only be needed if I found later, only did an initial clamp and push by hand, that the original size did not go small enough or if the original rubber on the inside wore out (which I don't see happening). I took a chance that they would work or I could make them work and the chance was worth it. Would buy again.
