Q: Is this wormery suitable to compost dog waste?

while this wormery isn't designed specifically for dog waste you can pretty much compost dog waste in any wormer, this one included. There are wormerys designed specifically for dog waste that are better sealed against smells and pests. Just ensure you don't use dog waste from a dog that has been recently wormed and never use compost from dog waste on edible plants.

Q: does this wormery cope with dog poo?

Yes it can be used for dog / cat poo, in fact any type of poo is fine though some needs time to 'break down' a bit first Just abide with the following advice.Always wear gloves when handling your pet pooMix your poo with plenty of carbon rich products (sawdust, cardboard, shredded paper, leaves)Always cover the poo with paper to keep flies awayDo NOT use the end vermicompost anywhere where children play - or where it is likely to enter the food chain. Sprinkle around fruit trees, bushes, hanging baskets, pots and containers, but DO NOT use in vegetable patches or similar.Please do not handle cat waste if pregnantAlways wash your hands!!Worms love poo, this is why you will always find compost worms in horse manure, cow pats etc. In many countries they actually use it in human waste systems

Q: Is this completely ratproof?

Certainly difficult to chew into but rats can be pretty determined. The only tray rats would be interested in is the top layer so unless you site it under something they can run up it isn't particularly accessible. However the lid comes off easily so would need securing in some way to keep them out. I keep mine in a garage which is pretty ratproof.

I imagine you mean the dog poop and not the dogs themselves? You can use a wormery for pet manure. I probably wouldn't use the finished castings on my veggie garden. But they should be fine for flower beds etc.
