Q: how much clearance is needed between door jam and wall? And what about doorknob...will it crash into wall possibly creating hole?

Because of the way the door hangs after installation the distance between the door jamb and the wall does not change, the door knob meets the wall the same as before installation.

Q: Is the finish bright or satin brass and is the hinge pin removeable

These are brass plated steel. One side is brushed finish, other satin. The pin is driven in the one half, can be driven out using thin center punch. These are somewhat crudely made, will not look at all like the hinges in the rest of your home. Also the hinge pockets may need to be chiseled/routed deeper.

Manufactured for Briggs Healthcare, Waukegan, IL, Made in China. Too bad not made in USA but great product!

Q: Who's the manufacturer of these expandable hinges? We have DMI's installed and after ten year the door sags so much that it's hard to close.

As your question says, these are sold by Health Smart. The box says they have a help line, 1-800-622-4714. Bottom of box notes that they were manufactured for:Briggs Healthcare, 1931 Norman Drive, Waukegan, IL 60085, (made in China). Hope this helps. The hinges have been a perfect answer for our small doorway.
