I have no regrets purchasing this phone! The space is just right! It uses dual SIM and it has a independent slot for a memory card. The camera is perfect! So clear and beautiful. It charges very quickly and the battery lasts for the entire day. Value for my money!

The device is phenomenal, it pains me to return it, considering I had the xiaomi mi9t, 6/128 gb. The redmi was highly anticipated. Once I went to Metro, the device didn't activate. After tremendous efforts of troubleshooting, bootloader unlock and all, in developer tools the phone was locked, needing a SIM to unlock lol, huh? Why need a SIM, to unlock? It would've been great to have the device already unlock, otherwise, I would be telling a different story.

I initially purchased this phone to replace my Mi 9T. This seemed like a perfect replacement. The phone was responsive and probably had more than enough resources for my use case and this is coming from someone who has used the Mi9T for 5 years without issue.Unfortunately, the phone refused to detect my SIM card no matter which SIM slot was used. There was no issues with the SIM as it worked perfectly in other phones and I even tried other SIMs just in case. I noticed that there was an error report that popped up regularly especially when in use and also when trying to access the SIM settings. I confirmed the serial number on Xioami site that the phone was indeed global unlocked. I did contact Xiaomi global support on this and while they were helpful, I had to return the phone.I purchased another thinking that the initial phone I got had a hardware defect but the second phone I purchased had the same exact issue with the same error report that pops up. There was a notice card packaged with the second phone that instructs you to add the APN manually if the network is not detected. The problem is that the SIM card and Mobile Network option is unable to open once a SIM is inserted. It is able to open if the SIM is removed but then all the options are greyed out so you can't add the APN manually. At this point I didn't bother contacting support and just initiated the return process with Amazon.This became pretty frustrating as this process has already crossed a month as an international customer. I had gotten pretty accustomed to the Xiaomi interface but I am now hesitant to purchase another Xiaomi phone at least at this time for fear of the same issue. The phone felt great and responsive when I had it, so hopefully it can be fixed through a firmware/software update in the future. I don't like leaving bad reviews but the two phones I got were basically unusable due to the issue I encountered.One last thing to add, the packaging seems to be a bit inconsistent. The first phone came with a car charger and UK-US power adapter literally taped to the box but then the second phone did not come with the adapter but only the car charger. I did see some review complaints of not receiving the adapter so I just wanted to make mention of it.
