I've been using live traps for over 40 years. Caught countless raccoons over the years. I got a young raccoon in the trap and it bent the trip pan like it was paper (it's very thin) and the rod that the trip pan uses to trip the door was pulled in and made into an unusable piece of scrap at this point. When we unboxed it there are a bunch of clips that hold it together so it is easy to assemble. The problem is most of those clips were bent and twisted and not in place. I was able to straighten them and put them where they were supposed to go. Those clips are also made of the same poor thin material that the trip pan is made of. Even the directions that come with it have no number or anything to call for any help or replacement parts. This is by far the worst live trap I've ever used. It became a one time use and for that price it was a complete waste of money.

Not the best instructions. We watched the video multiple times and had to look at photos. Part of the problem I think was it was a returned item bc someone couldn’t figure it out or messed it up. The box was obviously re-taped. Some of the clamps were loose in the box and we had to figure out where they belonged (noticed the paint scuff marks where they used to belong) and my husband used pliers to pinch them closed so the trap would assemble properly. One that was still on we had to pry open so we could assemble it. We baited it tonight and will update my review if we can catch a coyote. Can’t have them going after the chicken coop.

The latch for the trap door was mounted in a place that would not allow it to function. I took a Dremel tool and cut one of the bars to allow the latch to be set and released as it should. The rod from the latch to the flap which causes the trap to close was too long. The flap would not actuate the door because of the limited movement. It would be a big problem if the trap were set in the woods on loose soil. I shortened it and re-bent the end that attaches to the latch. the flap now up high enough to allow the varmint to set it off. I believe it is fine now and I'm looking forward to catching that groundhog which has been eating our roses. the materials used are sturdy and assembly was easy enough.

Twice the trap has been tripped and the critter got away. The trip pan is all bent up and the trip connect to the door is pulled loose and bent double. The door is not secure enough to hold critters. They dig and claw and end up twisting the door, and they escape. But have destroyed the trap again in the process. I will not rebuild this trap again..... So Be Forewarned !!!!!EDIT ::::: I CAN FIX IT.. The door needs to be solid. This will keep the racoons from reaching throughthe door to get to the latch and pulling on it and releasing the critter. a plastic file folder andsome zip ties will make this a GOOD TRAP....... I Hope.

This is a huge, great quality live trap! We used it to go after bobcats. My husband could not believe the great deal this was. I highly recommend it!!
