Great Fan
This fan ROCKS!! I have it on low and it's kicking some air. Being from Texas, when this fan is on high, we probably won't sweat as much doing yard work.

This Fan BLOWS
I like a breeze, and white noise from a fan while sleeping. I replaced my old fan with this one and am already impressed.IMPORTANT:One thing to note, based on the diagrams in the manual, the blades are attached with the securing screw on the back side of the fins. If you install it backward (like I did at first), it’s a LOT louder. The rounded edge of the fins should be (unintuitively) pointing counter clockwise, even though they rotate clockwise. This is not a quiet fan. But most fans produce a fair amount of noise if you really want to cool down. And like I mentioned, I like the white noise, and it moves more air on low, than my old one did on high.DETAILS:On low, it moves WAY more air than my old fan did (on high), and is only slightly louder than the old one was (on high). If this fan is turned up to high, you better make sure everything in the room is tied down.My old one was all plastic, this one is all metal. Very good quality. I like that the motor is pretty much enclosed. The old one failed because of too much dust collecting inside it. I got a few more years out of it by oiling it before it completely seized up. I’m sure ultimately the oil attracted more dirt in the long run. I’ll update this review if I find a good way to lubricate the bearings on this one without causing premature wear, or if anything unexpected happens.Out of the box, on low, after fixing the blade direction, it had enough torque to pivot the head upward. Tightening the bolt down on the head pivot solved this issue. This fan looks sharp, and performs better than I had hoped. It’s good to find a quality product in today’s market.

Definitely cools the room!!!
Our a/c is broken. We needed something to see us through the heat wave. I am TIRED of throwing my money away on JUNK fans that don't move air !! I paid 100 for this and it is worth every penny and a bargain compared the crap available in town.It came undamaged in the slightest. My son put it together very quickly with no issues. It doesn't come with a bag of misc nuts and bolts. All hardware is already installed, so you just need to remove it and put it back on.I love that it is all metal. It's pretty heavy, so I don't worry about it getting knocked over. The big motor is a plus and ball bearings, too. My first impression of this was that it is high quality and should last.We have not even used it on high- only low which moves A LOT of air. Tomorrow should be 90 degrees, so I'll likely be trying out the higher settings. We have it in the living room in front of an open window. We can hear the TV which is pretty close to the fan. I doubt the same can be said for higher speeds. I'll find out. Low really isn't all that loud and is a small price to pay for the amount of air it moves.I love this fan and I'm very happy with the quality. I have sent the link around to family and friends. Everyone needs a good fan. My sister needs this to blow the bugs on her carport when she's chilling out there! My only concern about the fan is it doesn't state that the ball bearings or motor need to be oiled or how.

I recommend buying a different brand fan
First off, I seldom give bad reviews, but this Tornado 30" Outdoor Rated IPX4 Water Resistant Metal Oscillating Pedestal Fan - 8850 CFM – UL but the seller and fan itself do not deserve one.First they claim the fan to be outdoor rated but the "important instructions" section state it is NOT to be used outdoors. The packaging was the worst I have ever seen and was coming apart almost everywhere. All 4 corners were broken open and coming apart, and the box was torn from top to bottom. Even the styrofoam surrounding the parts was broken.Second you might as well throw the fan assembly instructions away because they are basically useless and do not give you any step by step instructions with pictures. There are some pictures but they are not plain and do not really explain them well at all, such as the oscillation. It says to start or stop oscillation you to remove the thumb screw and move it to a different location. There is no thumb screw, but there is a screw you have to use a regular screw driver to take it out. And, when I took the screw out to move it to the designated hole to stop it from oscillating, the hole didn't even come close to aligning with the screw. So, I guess I will have to completely remove the oscillating rod. Finally, it does blow air, but not as strong as it claims and does not reach as far as they claim and is much louder than my shop fan which is about the same size, relatively quiet and less than half the price.
