I’m not sure you will need a special cage to mint the esc. I’m not sure if there is one for that or not.

Q: Looking to upgrade. How will it do in the new rustler vxl 4x4?

It should be great. This will give you a bit more speed as it is a 3800kv instead of 3500kv and will have more torque since it is a 4 pole. I am pretty sure that you will need a new pinion since this shaft is 5MM on this one and the VXL is 3.17mm. I would get a set of pinions around the stick size and take temps as necessary with a 10 dollar infrared thermometer to make sure you are below 180 degrees after your run. Should be fun!

Technically yes but its highly not recommended with this combo. The motor needs to much power to run correctly and you will just destroy the nihm batterys
