Well-built, supportive and provide great traction
I am new to fly fishing and wanted quality gear but didn't want to spend a ton of money. I found the right brand when I chose to buy the Froggs Toggs. These wading boots were an afterthought a few days after buying the Froggs Toggs stockingfoot waders. At first I thought I could wear some old hiking boots then bought some oversized water shoes. Of course neither of these worked and I learned there was a reason wading boots existed, even if it meant spending another eighty bucks. These boots are worth every dollar. They're built well, give good support and provide great traction on the riverbeds common in my region.I chose the felt soles and feel like I made the right decision. I haven't slipped yet and felt very sure-footed. It's suggested to go with your regular boot size since they have already built the extra space needed for the neoprene booties. I did go one size higher because of my extra wide width but could have gone with the usual boot size. The size 11's look like Frankenstein's boots but even with the extra space they felt comfortable for the three hours in the water.

Great wading boot to pair with waders
The Frogg Toggs Hellbender wading boots have been excellent. I ordered one size up to accommodate my wading pants with built-in neoprene booties, and the fit is perfect. Recommend wearing a thin wicking sock beneath your waders to prevent chafing. The lugged soles offer great grip, and the lacing system is quick and easy—these boots go on and off without hassle.I’ve used them for kayak fishing in Florida over the past year, and they’ve held up very well. My feet stay warm and dry, even in wet or cooler conditions. Surprisingly, even during Florida summers when I wear them with wading pants in rainy weather, I’ve had no issues with my feet getting too hot.I love these boots and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, comfortable wading footwear.

Very comfortable and held up well.
I have used these boots on one trip so far but I am extremely pleased. They were quite comfortable and the ankle support was firm which helped while walking over rocks and boulders while wading in the water.I must have hiked for 2-3 miles on top of wading in the water and the shoes were comfortable all day long.I went up one size and they fit perfectly with my stocking waders, I would suggest going up one size for the additional comfort and ability to wear socks of different bulk. Can’t say how they will hold up in the long run but I only fish while wading 4-5 times a year and for the price and comfort I can’t complain.

I think the sizes run large
My regular tennis shoes size is 13. So I was expecting to order a 14 knowing that my wader still needed to fit inside. Well it was way too large. It turns out it still need a size 13. So I'm not sure if they run a size large or not??

Nice boots for the cost
I've always used trash boot with waders. I got these to help me stay upright in rocky water and they work well. Comfortable and they seem well made.

Solid footing
I just started fishing again this year and the river by my house is mainly stone/rock and sand and varies in depth with a steady current. Most of the rocks are covered in slime and I wanted to have a sure footing when navigating this river. The screw in studs were the main reason for this purchase. The light weight and comfort were a bonus that paired well with the waders.
