A great read
I didn't think I would like this book when I first started it as I'm not a particular fan of artists and paintings. How wrong I was. I should have known that I would soon change my mind. After all this book was written by Jeffrey Archer!I was soon drawn into the story and what a story it was. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole book and was quite sorry when it drew to a close, it was so exciting and I was on the edge of my seat for a large part of the time.Five stars for "False Impression".

Plastic characters.
A well written story but I found the characters a little plastic and predictable. Won't read any more of his.

Fantastic!
Jeffrey Archer is in the Champion's League of Authors. It takes no time at all to get into his books, great storytelling, interesting characters and plot. Told in a way that is never boring and always a joy to read.False Impression another winner from Archer!

Unbelievable!
I normally love Jeffrey Archer's novels, he's a marvellous storyteller with lots of twists and turns that leave you wanting to read just a few more pages to find out what happens next, but this book left me feeling that Mr Archer is finally losing the plot!It took me a little while to get into it, and although it was an easy to read, reasonably good cat and mouse story, with the heroine staying one step ahead of the baddies all the time, it was just so unbelievably inconceivable in places I found it quite annoying. We have a young woman fired from her job working for an unscrupulous and fraudulent banker, who manages to escape from the 80th floor of the North Tower just as the plane goes into it during the terrorist attack on The Twin Towers. She then flies all around the world to London , Romania, Tokyo and London again, before returning to the States, all paid for out of her own pocket presumably, in order to keep her ex-boss from getting his hands on a £70m Van Gough painting he's swindled from The Wentworth Estate in England to pay off the Estates's astronomical loan with him! There are so many other impossibly ridiculous situations along the way, far too numerous to list without totally giving the plot away, but when a prisoner charged with multiple murders escapes from a high security prison hospital and leaves the country with nothing more than a forged passport containing a Polaroid photo stuck in with glue, I realised Mr Archer is seriously insulting the reader's intelligence!

Brilliant!
I am a very, very big fan of Jeffrey Archer's books and False Impression is no exception. Archer is such an eloquent and clever writer that each time I read one of his books I feel as if I am not only being entertained by a master, but also learning many things. His knowledge of the art world is mesmerising and his skill at storytelling is as inspirational as it is masterful. False Impression is a terrific read and I recommend it to anyone.

Another Amazing Story
Starting with a gruesome murder in England, the story develops into a world wide thriller with many evil characters, male and female, doing terrible deeds in every corner of the Globe. The International Art trade is the back ground subject with excellent knowledge researched and displayed by the author to stimulate the readers intelligence as well as an exciting story keeping them on the edge of their seat as each page is turned. The urge to keep reading gathers momentum throughout the book and concludes with a magnificent end. Like the many masterpieces mentioned in the book Archer has created another himself in the writing of this book. Bravo!
