First off this safe works great. The biometric reader is fantastic. It picks up your prints from any angle. Unlike some others that require you to place your finger “just right”. Installs super fast and easy. Solid quality build and great price point. It fits everything from my XD to my 1911. Would definitely recommend this to my friends and family.

I haven't mounted this yet because I'm still testing it to make sure that it's going to work well but so far I've been testing it out daily for a couple of weeks and the fingerprints work well consistently and only with the fingerprints that have been programmed and the keypad works well. It also fits my full size firearm.

The first unit I received did not work. I asked for an exchange, and reached out to their customer service as an FYI. The exchange was easy and they even responded to my message.This drop-down safe works well and was easy to install.

Works good, good convenient design.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas because we are currently expecting our first child and I wanted something that would be easy to get to but stored safely. When we first got it the battery pack would not stay in place, so every time he opened it the pack fell. My husband finally got it to stay in the right place while it opened. He screwed it into the night stand and we threw away the box to return it. Now a month later and the battery pack drops out without using it, so he has to use the key to open it every time… defeats the purpose of ease while opening it!Update: customer service reached out and sent us a new safe. This one works properly and we are very pleased with the product and customer service. We will recommend to anyone looking for a safer way to store certain items.

I've recently ordered and received this gun safe and these are my first impressions.This is a heavy, well made and functional single handgun safe. I don't know how it compares with other similar gun safes in the same or higher price range, but this one is plenty good! The Amazon description is accurate.It mounts vertically and fastens at the top or either side with the included bracket and screws. The door swings open at a downward angle for easy and fast home defense access. My Glock 19 gen 5 fits well into cut outs in the heavy foam liner within the swing down door. This safe will secure a handgun from access by curious children and adults. However, a thief could take time to pry or break safe away from its mounting screws and remove it from your home to open later.It has a very smoothly textured powder coated black finish, a nicely sized and printed instructional booklet, high quality wood & thumb screws, and two small high quality keys. As a one handgun safe, it isnarrow which made accessing the interior thumb screws, battery carrier, and program button a little awkward , but doable, for me. The interior battery carrier is not marked with a + or - signs.It comes with fine thread screws and plastic anchors and should be mounted on something solid like wood. Fine thread screws work best on hardwoods and could probably be used without the anchors for that purpose. For softwoods, pressed, or composition materials, the plastic anchors should probably be used. Installing and later removing the gun safe will leave screw/anchor holes. The safe has a lot of nice features, which meant I had to read the instructions closely to understand, program, and use them.A single L shaped mounting bracket is provided for top and side mounting, If the safe is side mounted, the horizontal top of the bracket (used for top mounting) sticks up an inch above the top of the safe with its 4 mounting holes showing. That horizontal part looks unfinished and unnecessary to me and takes away from the otherwise clean look of the safe. It would, I suppose, protect the top of the safe from accidental damage. Also, on the opposite, unmounted side, the mounting tabs are visible but minimized by a removeable cover. It is an exceptionally good value given all its features and functionaity!
