Q: if I buy more than one set, can they be joined togther?

No, two sets can't be joined together. The holes are pre-drilled and the shape are fixed. Thanks.

Q: Can I split this frame into two: 8 + 4?

Probably not a good idea, definitely wouldn't look as good.

Q: can you put all the frames portrait or do some have to be landscape

Has to be as pictured as hole space are pre drilled through some of the frames

Q: Is it screwed to the wall or hung?

Mine is hung on two nails / screws / picture hooks. Although solid, it's not very heavy so normal small picture hooks are fine.
