Great and has a unique scent
I live in a colder climate so getting any out of the container is a bit of a struggle. Hold is just what I was looking for, the texture isn't too rough, the scent is unique (still trying to figure out what it smells like), lasts long, and looks great!

Product damaged and unusable
Immediately opened after delivery and product was uncapped. Attempted to use the product and the clay was hard as rock. I could feel my nail bending when attempting to get hold of the clay.

Love This Clay!!
I love everything about this. The hold, the texture, the scent. I bough a couple extra jars, as it looks like the Lockharts have discontinued it.I use it at least once a week

Love their products but got the wrong one
I’ve been using this brand and specifically this scent exclusively for years and decided to get it via amazon since it wasn’t available on their website. However I received the regular matte firm holding instead of the fire and brimstone and it seems based off of other reviews that its pretty common to receive a product different from what was ordered which is a shame.

If you like that matte/textured look, this is the product for you!
This product is so interesting. Maybe I’m not used to clays because when I opened this product it was pretty much rock solid so when you scoop out a fingertips amount of the clay it is actually quite difficult. When rubbing it through your hands to warm it up it is also a little difficult. However when you work it through your hair it goes in very easily and is quite honestly the best product that I’ve used for my hair type. I have finally found a product that will allow me to do exactly what I want with my hair! If you’re looking for that matte, textured look, then this is the product for you.

Smells like incense. High hold. Washes away without much difficulty.
They CLAIM it smells like "a burning fire pit with sweet top notes of charcoal and flames"...What it really smells like is traditional incense they use in temples or your hippy friends bathroom. I was REALLY expecting a clay that smelled like a fireplace or campfire. So this is quite disappointing. I don't really want to be the guy who smells like burning incense. The actual clay is extremely hard out of the jar. You will need to use the back of your fingernail to scoop it out or soften it with a hairdryer. It warms up when rubbed in your hands and goes through the hair with some tug. Fingers will be waxy after use. Washes off easy with warm water.Use on dry or mostly dry hair for best results. I found that using it on wet or damp hair left parts of my hair in bunches.Expect a high hold. A little goes a long way.

Scent is terrible beyond belef
Lockhart's Fire and Brimstone matte clay has got to be the worst pomade I've come across. Although the pomade is good for what it does, the scent is so horrible that I literally can't use it. It doesn't smell like a smokey fire. It smells like some sweet perfume that an older person would use.But the worst part of all is the scent doesn't go away after an hour. It remains just as strong until it's washed out. And whatever my head comes in contact with while I have the FIre and Brimstone in my hair, it leaves the scent, and it stays there as well. It's like a skunk. You know how a skunk can smell a place up, and you continue to smell it days later? Fire and Brimstone clay is like that. It's too bad because the pomade reminds me of Baxter of California clay in thickness and look. That's also clay with a scent that stays as well, but at least with that, it's not as horrible as fire and Brimstone. It isn't terrific. I'm not a big fan of Baxter of California because of the scent, but it's still way better than fire and brimstne.
