Worked like a charm and didn't have to go to the Dealer.
When my son bought his 2010 S80 used, the seller only had 1 key. I couldn't believe how much Volvo wanted for a new key fob. I was glad to find these on Amazon. II was a little concerned reading some of the reviews about getting them programmed, but I took a chance after our local locksmith told me they could program them for $50.I took it to get programmed. The tech at the Locksmith was unsure if he could do it, this was not the same person I talked to on the phone. He had never programmed one before, but said he'd give it a try. They have 2 different systems they use for programming key fobs. I am sorry, I do not remember the names of the systems. He ruled out the first system right away, but was hopeful the second system he used could do it. He took it to the car and hooked it up. Without decrypting the Immobilizer, he could only program the keys to start the car, they wouldn't unlook the doors or the trunk. It was going to take several hours to decrypt the Immobilizer to fully program the key fobs, so we made an appoint to bring it back another day.We dropped the car off when they first opened. They had the car back to us about 5 hours later with 2 fully functioning key fobs and the metal keys cut. They charged more to cut the keys ($36 each key) than they did to program both fobs ($50 for both). Even at that price, it was still more than 1/2 less than what Volvo would charge. Plus, the nearest Volvo dealer is about an hour away.Definitely check with your locksmith to make sure they can program the fobs. Volvo would not provide the key code needed to program the fobs, which is why the Immobilizer had to be decrypted. The one system they use could not do the decryption, but fortunately the other system code. Make sure you get the key code from them, so you don't have to do the decryption if you need more fobs programmed.

This may be a waste of your money!
I received the fobs but weren’t able to take them to my Volvo tech until a time outside of the 30 day purchase period. My tech was not able to program the docs because they didn’t come with a code. Also, I wasn’t able to return them because the returned period expired. This was a total waste of money!!

Deceptive sales
This purchase is deceptive. Now I have to spend more money to get the keys programmed. I’m sending them back and just getting from the dealer

Can't Be Programmed!
This key fob requires a code to be used by the dealer or locksmith to be programmed for Volvo applications. The seller does not provide the code. As a result this key fob is useless.Unfortunately there is no rating for negative stars.
