It's summer time
Super easy to set up. I don't think it had instructions even. Timer goes off right when I wanted it too and it really comes out when it does. Real good quality. It's been more than useful with my irrigation.I had to change out the faucet because it was leaking so I would check that before getting this fella.

Defective Rain Bird timer
The media could not be loaded. Timer came with the connector for the tap disconnected from the unit.I've tried to put it back on, but it isn't staying.I do believe it is defective.

Worked great for a time
This purchase was my second. The first worked fine for probably 5 years to water my garden several days per week. Worked far better than me remembering to turn the water back off.But then --The design is meant to fail safe. If the battery dies or whatever, the timer fails to turn on. Awesome idea.Mine however failed ON! The rubber diaphragm had a groove worn in it from the plastic seat which had a couple burrs on it, and it stuck open with the water running. I got so lucky though because I parked my car on the hose - so unlikely - and my neighbor noticed it slightly on at the wrong time of day and let me know. Given the years of good service, and hopefully unlikely to repeat, I bought the second unit.

Leaks right out of the box
After putting batteries in and setting it for a quick cycle to see if/how it worked, I connected it first to one and then to a different hose bib. I snugged down the connector by hand until the body would no longer rotate under it's own weight, both times, then turned the hose bib on. Both times, it immediately leaked from several openings on the device housing. From the area around the connectors, as well as around the buttons to the right of the display. The timer function and valve actually worked as expected. I didn't expect a free flow of water from every little opening of the housing at all times, however. Not sure if I'll try another of this brand or not. Pretty disappointed.

A Top Quality Rubber Garden Hose! Long Lasting And Durable! Why Settle For The Cheap Imitations?
Wow, I wasn't aware that they still made the quality rubber garden hoses, but the Rain Bird PGH75HF premium high-flow garden hose was certainly one exception to the rule. Yes, even though the Rain Bird PGH75HF rubber garden hose is undeniably more expensive than the cheap imitations, you simply get what you pay for. I mean, this top quality rubber garden hose is going to last a life time while the cheap imitations will simply find their way to the curb in considerably less time. If you prefer leaks, kinks and messing around with garden hose repair kits, then the Rain Bird PGH75HF rubber garden hose would not be for you. As for me, I purchased one of the Rain Bird PGH75HF rubber garden hoses a couple of months ago for my mother, and her Nelson 1865 'Rain Train' Tractor Traveling Sprinkler made a splendid combination. So, as I was saying, why settle for the cheap imitations, and let them spoil your day? Stay ahead of the game, and get the Rain Bird PGH75HF top quality rubber garden hose now!

Seems well built so far.
Ive had close to a dozen automatic water timers and have lost most from some sort of crack or leak forming over time. Usually the hose gets knocked around and puts pressure on it causing thin internal plastic parts to crack (usually near the hose or spigot connections, which are metal on this one, so Im happy with that. When I saw this one, i decided to give it a try since it’s “pro duty” and will hopefully last a little longerUpon receiving it I decided to open it up to inspect why this one is considered “pro duty”. The internals are all pretty basic with the back casing attached to the front with 5 screws. The compartment for the two AA batteries seems to seal well to keep out water. And aside from the thin wiring attached with some hot glue, nothing really alarmed me. I will say that the part that typically breaks (between the two end fittings that contains the mechanism to open and close the valves) is still plastic like others, but seems to be a little thicker plastic with four ribs on the outside (visible in pictures) to reinforce it. Aside from the metal connections and slightly reinforced plastic valve column, im not sure what all makes this pro duty though. Once reassembled, i hooked it up and there weren't any issues there. Easy to set the timers and no leaks so far. Overall the build quality seems better than most but admittedly I was hoping for a little more metal parts and reinforcement at the collars but again, it seems slightly better than most so time will tell if it’s adequate. I’ll try to update this if there are any issues in the future.
