Q: Has anyone got this working on Linux ? - if so could they briefly explain the drivers and setup procedure they used - thanks :)

I am using this device (HD version) on Ubuntu 14.04 and it works as-good-as out-of-the-box. It is a rebranded Geniatech T230 so you will need at least Linux Kernel 3.19 and firmwares as of this guide: https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Geniatech_T230I use it together with Tvheadend (Backend) and Kodi (Frontend). For that setup I consultated guides from around the internet, like http://kodi.wiki/view/Tvheadend, and got it working by following those.

Q: Does it save in HD format too? If so, under what resolution?

Mr T, That will depend on the software you're using. I don't use the bundled software; I use Mediaportal, which is excellent, easy to use and free and the T-210 will do pretty much anything. Yes, it records HD channels in full 1080 HD. It will also record two or more channels at once or let you watch one while recording another if they're on the same multiplex. So, the hardware certainly does the job... and the software is free if you want it. I can't comment on the bundled software though because I've never installed it.

Q: Will this work in the United Statess? I'm interested in this but I'm not familiar with the UK broadcasting system.

Sorry I dont think it does according to the manual only covers european countries UK, France, Denmark, Italy, and Spain

Q: Can this be used on a Chrome operating System Laptop?

Chrome OS is a Linux OS and this kind of TV Tuner/Recorder can be used on Linux PC's and presumably on Chrome Laptops (I don't have one of those so no guarantee). You should look for the Kaffeine Media software app on Google Play. It's usually freeware but Google probably charge for it... My advice to anyone with a Chrome laptop is to change the OS to a proper Linux one where it will be much easier to get apps without paying and without adverts. My daughter just got one and refuses to change the OS although another Linux OS will do all the same things for free and without back-door spyware built in. Do a search for back-door spyware - Microsoft PC's are full of them as well.
