It will work with your phone app
Thighs an ingenious devices you have Oticon hearing aids. It works really well and is easy to set up. What the instructions don’t tell you is how to make it work with the Oticon phone app. It is automatic - pairing your aids to the device will also put a “”tv” program in the app from which you can fine tune the tv sound. The instructions don’t tell you this directly. They should. It other than that this is a great product

Setup
I did not understand the instructions included with the unit (kind of my issue not the product) after contacting Othion support they were great help.I also checked YouTube for video once I understood how to pair the streamer it worked. The app on my iPhone was better than I ever expected very easy to use now no problems with volume offending others in the house with tv volume. Donot hesitate to purchase this tv streamer if you have Othion hearing aids. Works great!

This thing is life changing!
I was a little hesitant to purchase this item. But I did and I couldn’t be happier. No more loud tv. No more missed dialogue. I can hear every nuance, every conversation, every detail. I was getting depressed that I would never be able to enjoy a movie at home again. But I can and if you are suffering from hearing loss and use Oticon hearing aids you can too. I have a sound system connected to my tv and had to purchase an hdmi to optical adapter to make it work but it was well worth it.

Inconvenient control, poor, unenhanced sound quality, way, way over-priced
I considered buying Oticon’s TV Adapter 3.0 for OPN on Amazon for $198.00. But first, I called Oticon tech support and asked how this device works. Does it do more than amplify audio streamed via Bluetooth from the adapter to the user’s hearing aids, and are other enhancements embedded in it that improve TV sound quality, which is notoriously poor? In fact, the quality of digitally formatted audio emanating from today’s SMART TVs is so bad that even viewers with good hearing often resort to turning on closed caption to understand dialogue. Meanwhile, we lesser mortals with failing hearing struggle even more than users with normal hearing to understand digitally transmitted dialogue. I gathered from Oticon’s support rep’s roundabout reply that the adapter does nothing more than amplify unenhanced sound streamed by Bluetooth to hearing aids. So, listeners are force-fed poor quality sound at amplified levels thru this adapter to their brains. Further, the support rep stated that the adapter requires a mobile phone paired with an app downloaded from Apple or Google to control the volume streamed to the hearing aids. Thus, in addition to the adapter, one needs a mobile phone plus an app loaded on the phone to control it. This is pure, inconvenient nonsense. CONCLUSION: At $198.00, Oticon’s TV Adapter 3.0 is exorbitantly over-priced. It’s not worth a dime more than $19.95. That assumes customers are willing to buy this low-technology, sound-blasting accessory, even at this price. Caveat Emptor.JKLA frequent Amazon customer

A Game Changer with a Quirk
This device pairs to my Oticon Real 1 hearing aids for watching TV without chasing away the rest of my family, so in that regard it does what it should. I gave this four of five stars because there are times when I lose connection in one aid, or I have to reload the Oticon Companion app to get it working again. When working as it should, the sound quality is fantastic. I have been able to hear the TV through my aids more than 50 feet away, and that is impressive. Well worth the money, and someone using iPhone app may have a different experience than I do with my Android app.
