there are no brakes for the pusher as they are located on the wheels at the correct height and place for the person in the wheelchair, however, if you are pushing you don't need brakes at your hands you just stop pushing .........! I have never encountered a problem with this and the brakes are accessible if you, as the pusher, lean forward. Good luck and we have found the wheelchair very good

Q: Hello, I have just received my new wheelchair and I am delighted with it. My query concerns the tyres, are they prone to puncture?

Unfortunately we have not used it very much as my father in law was admitted to hospital a few days after purchase. Given the quality of the wheelchair I would expect solid tyres. I can not recall seeing anything about inflation or the offer to buy a handy pump just in case!

Yes, but they are not for everyone, they are fitted in the space in between the back wheels, where you normally put your feet when walking, so you may have to adjust your walking style. You are better buying one of these from a shop so they can fit it properly & so you can try it out before buying, just in case you don't like it. Julian - Mobility 2000

We have used a Tesco wheelchair trolley succesfully and would assume from the way they connect other supermarket trollies would be ok.
