Use this for twisting fringe on hand-woven scarves and shawls
I didn't buy this to use for my hair. I bought it after seeing someone use it for twisting fringe on hand-woven scarves and shawls. It works a treat for this, and I recommend it highly for the easy-to-use clamps, which grip perfectly well on yarn. The double-direction feature makes it really easy to do Altogether a cheaper and easier alternative to use, than expensive hand-twisters (not much more than alligator clips on a bit of wood, sold by the different manufacturers of looms), which are fiddly and require a certain amount of manual dexterity.Huzzah!

Poor product
I ordered this scunci insta twist braid styler for my daughter. The first one that arrived was faulty. the screw where the battery went would not open so no battery could go in, therefore it didnt work. Amazon sent another one as a replacement. They were great in their customer service and I received it right away. However the 2nd one is also faulty. One button works to twist the strands of hair separately, but button 2 does not work. the one that twists the individual strands together.

Great end result, but fiddly
I used this for the first time today. Ideal, if you can get somebody else to do it for you. However doing it yourself you feel as if you need three hands! Trying to use it in a mirror is awkward unless you’re used to styling your hair in a mirror. I’ve never used curling tongs and rarely use a hairdryer even, so trying to aim for the clips was difficult. I finally managed to clip sections from either side to do a partial ponytail/braid and the end result was worth the initial struggle. Unlike others who have commented I didn’t get my hair tangled at all and I’ll hopefully become more dexterous as I gain experience in using it

Bought this so my husband could do our daughters hair and make her feel special. Very simple to use, fast and effective. All sorts of funky and creative styles achieved with this and they both love it.

Do NOT touch this with a barge pole!
Serious headline - and deservedly so. I tried this with my hair held both taught and slack with it. It didn't twist all the way to my head, but instead tightly twisted the ends and even knotted them. I spent half an hour trying to get one of them out and eventually had to cut an inch off these strands.I had looked at youtube videos before I bought it and my results were nothing like theirs. Maybe it is only suitable for certain types of hair - mine is very fine.Since it is only a simple rope braid, I tried doing it myself by hand, and not only was it quicker, it was much nicer looking than with this tool.Believe me, I tried this exhaustively and would not recommend it at all. Especially, (which I hadn't realised,) since a rope braid is so easy to do yourself.
