Solid product
Some bits require effort to prepare so be careful. Fiddly to put together but enjoyable to do.

Brilliant Model, Has Issues Though
Really nice detailed model, one that i really enjoyed doing. Some of the detail on the ships hull can be tricky to paint due to it`s size but i just about managed with a modelling lens. Did not bother attaching the sails as i think the model looks nicer without them, plastic sails always look cheap so i may add fabric ones at a later stage. My only gripe is the quality of the injection moulding, i know with plastic kits it`s unavoidable but this one was particularly poor. Virtually every part had to be trimmed and some of the pieces are so small it`s almost impossible to remove them without damaging or snapping them. Modeller beware, may sound obvious but a really sharp knife and strong magnifier are needed if you want to do it justice, not the easiest kit to do but worth the effort, just a shame about the moulding.

An old mould so lots of flash!!
A bit disappointed. It has to be from a very old mould. Excessive amount of flash and “bubbles “. Is going together fairly well but needs a lot of sanding in places with a lot of fine detail missing

Piece missing but did offer to rectify it straight away
I've gotten half way through building this upon realising that there is a very important piece missing and cannot continue any further

This is not up to the standard I have come to expect for Revell Plastic Kits. Revell give this kit a 5 rating for difficulty... I really think they need to have a 5+ or 6 rating specially for this model. The molding quality is very poor. I had to file down/modify just about every one of the parts. The instructions are also not of the detail I expect...much of the construction had to be puzzled over. The rigging arrangement suggested is obviously a simplification of the spiders web of the real thing. But, maybe it's just me, but the very flimsy and spindly masts and spars are very difficult to keep intact AND complete the rigging as per the instructions. This perhaps explains why many of the photos of completed kits I found on the internet had vrey simplified rigging.I would say that if I were to construct this kit again I would approach it in a completely different way. All that said, I finally managed to get a finished model which looks pretty impressive.
