thanks for your question. The ringer can't be turned off, It has auto answering machine function, when you swtich the AUTO ON/OFF button on the ON side, the incoming call will be received automatically and the ringing tone will just ring once. Hope this information is helpful to you,

Yes. My wife uses this at her stay-at-home job. You can answer the calls with any of the three and change to another during the call - handset to the headset, headset to the speaker, speaker to the handset, etc. Good phone. Would buy it again. Reasonably priced.
