Perfect keyboard and mouse for office type use.
I wanted a wireless keyboard for working from home with a laptop. I didn’t want it for gaming or anything else, just good old work from home using Windows and the main applications used for business.I did plenty of homework (too much some would say) and read lots of reviews including ALL the low rating reviews. These were quite off putting but I persisted with looking for something that I needed - a full keyboard with traditional use of function keys (F1 to F12) rather than the modern use for volume, brightness etc. I needed this as I use the keyboard a lot on many desktop applications such as Word and Excel - I couldn’t cope with having to press the Fn key to activate these. So after many possibilities I plumped for this Dell option... and I was not disappointed! Within minutes (literally!) I was typing much more consistently and not making the mistakes I often make on the laptop keyboard. I’d read some reviews that said it is flimsy - it isn’t! I’d read that the keyboard ‘tapped’ when you pressed the keys - it doesn’t! I’d read that there was latency (lag) and some key depressions didn’t register - not yet it hasn’t!I have used this For a week on a good flat desk and it sits steady and sturdy, the key response is perfect for my needs and I absolutely love it. It’s not cheap at £75 but it has made me so much happier at work that it has been worth every penny. Now to the mouse. Again the reviews pretty much all panned this - I don’t get it! I wasn’t looking for a mouse but I am very pleased with this. It works perfectly well for my needs which is infrequent use (remember I said that I used the keyboard a lot). I’ve not experienced any misplaced cursor position or disappearing requiring it to be restarted. It has done everything I’ve asked of it and it fits perfectly in my hand, is very light and smooth across the desk. Now a word about the connectivity. I have my own laptop (HP) and one that I use for a client (Dell). I’ve set the HP up to use a Bluetooth connection (connection number 3) and the Dell to use the supplied dongle (connection number 1). After taking a few minutes to find the correct way to set up the Bluetooth connection on Windows 10 (it’s not that intuitive but that’s a Windows issue) the keyboard and mouse worked brilliantly. Setting up for the USB dongle was really easy. Switching between the two laptops is an absolute doddle. I turn off both the keyboard and mouse at night and turn them on again in the morning and they both connect instantly to the selected laptop. If you are looking for a keyboard (and mouse) for typical office use, these are perfect for the job. If you are gaming or maybe doing something more creative like music, graphics etc. I really couldn’t tell you if these work well enough for you - I’m not the creative kind!If you have questions, please feel free to ask, I’ll do my best to answer them because I LOVE this set!

Dell KM717 Keyboard & Mouse Combo , "JUST PERFECT"
I went for this combo for the freedom of being able to move the keyboard around my desk and to free up the clutter of cables. I searched various combos but I never seen Dells option until the last 5 minutes. I liked the looked of it and especially how thin it was and it also looked modern.I thought as I have 3 other Dell products and they make great stuff, I would order it. When the combo arrived, I couldn’t believe the quality of the keyboard. Its lovely soft and slightly bigger keys suited me down to the ground and man it looks great. Now because my motherboard hasn’t got Bluetooth, I had to order a small dongle which was very cheap “£8 for a 4.0 type”So I first installed the dongle, then the keyboard, then the mouse and in a matter of minutes I was up and running “clutter free”.Now the keyboard & mouse are not for gamming. They are purely for workflow i.e. “Photoshop/Lightroom or Video Editing” which suits me down to the ground as my gamming days are well over. The Mouse isn’t up to the standards of say a Razor Mamba but it will do the job but I just wanted it for the keyboard to start with.I thought in fact the keyboard & mouse would make a nice product shot for photography as that’s what I do, so I added them for you to look at.I would defiantly give Dell`s keyboard a sound 10/10 and the mouse a 6/10.It was also a real bonus that when using my Laptop, I can use the keyboard and mouse with a flick of a switch on the keyboard. “Great Idea”I hope this review and the images helps if you’re thinking in this combo.Update: As from the 31/12/2018This keyboard is still going strong and is as good as I first bought it even though I have played Assassins Creed Odysey and Ghost Recon Wildlands on it but I must admit I just couldn't get used to the Dell Mouse.

Good keyboard only let down a little with the mouse
I ordered the premier KM717 keyboard and mouse despite the extra cost based purely on reviews of the cheaper basic DELL keyboard reviews, glad I did.The keyboard comes with a USB dongle which will get you up and running in seconds. The single dongle behaves as a USB hub for both the keyboard and mouse. In addition the keyboard supports 2 bluetooth profiles for pairing your iPad, laptop or other devices. The keyboard and mouse comes with AAA batteries in the box.As for the build, the keyboard looks the business and the top is made with a brushed metal finish. The key appearance matches my Dell XPS-15 although the extra spacing between keys reduces the amount of errors when typing. Unfortunately the keys are not back-lit, but this is not a deal breaker, since I use this keyboard when I'm docked at home, in a well lit room. The only let down IMHO opinion is the mouse. It feels cheap and plasticky (if there is such a word?). Ergonomically it is ok, and works fine, once I turned down the sensitivity, but I just don't get the feeling it will last a couple of years. On the plus side the IR sensor used in the mouse allows it to be used on any colour surface without skating all over the screen.Overall I still consider it a good purchase if you are in the process of upgrading your keyboard and mouse.

Looks and performs great
Looks great and has great functionality. I've now had this keyboard for 6 months and i still love it. It feels good quality and is easy to type on. The 3 profiles make it easy to switch between Windows and Mac. The mouse is well designed and is very comfortable.
