Size 4 for Rottie with a longer snout
The media could not be loaded. I bought this to start muzzle training for my Rottie i rescued a year ago. He’s reactive to strangers and we needed a muzzle for the vet and to bring him places to work on socializing. I read a lot of comments about it breaking easily due to dogs trying to get it off with their paws. When we first started training he tried very hard to get it off but i always stopped him so he didn’t break it. It took me a minute to learn how it goes on but i realized the loop at the bottom is for it to go on a collar. Once i learned how it went on and my Rottie was doing better with training it’s easy to get on. I was nervous it wouldn’t fit him right cause he doesn’t have the traditional Rottie snout. His Snout is longer but still has some thickens to it. It ended up fitting good and he still has some room length wise. I put a few example pics of my Rottie for reference. He’s able to eat treats but hasn’t attempted to eat or drink with it. It’s very easy to clean. At the vet they fed him cheese wiz that got all over it and was easy to clean with a wet napkin. The one thing that bothers him is the strap that goes in between his eyes and over his head. I keep it a little loose so sometimes when he tries to rub it off it gets in his eyes. He’s very smart so i’ve noticed that him having on the muzzle he knows he can’t bite. He was very nervous at the vet and when the vets came in he growled a bit but he didn’t try lunging. Training him to get comfortable with the muzzle was a lot easier than i thought too. He’s very stubborn and hated it. I started off by putting treats in the muzzle and letting him put his face in it to get the treats for good association. Then i held it up and held a treat through a hole so he had to put his face in it. About 30 minutes later i had my brother distract him with treats so i could clip it. Once it was on he did try to get it off but i held his head up so he didn’t get it off or break it. I did that a few times then once it was on i kept giving him high value treats like ham. Within less than an hour i was able to walk him with it. Now he gets happy when he sees it cause he knows he’s getting a treat. He does still try and take it off a few times but gives up. I like that it has padding on the part that goes between the eyes and head. Plus it’s reflective. Overall it’s a good price and it’s done everything i needed it to. I recommend it!

Measurements are useless!
This is the second time I've ordered from here and both times I ordered the largest size. The largest (size 6) for my Great Pyrenees, and largest for my Pyrenees mix, whos a bit smaller, and then a size 3 this time for the mix. I went by the size chart and measured both of my dogs snouts both times i ordered, just to make sure i got everything right. The one I ordered, this one specifically for (the first time i ordered) my Pyrenees mix, he fell between sizes, so I went up one, like suggested. It was way too big and missing the strap that connects to the collar. We went ahead and kept it because it does fit our other dog (pure Pyrenees) and doesn't hurt to have a back up. Well, the mix ate the pure Pyrenees's muzzle off of his face because he didn't have one to stop him.... Which brings us to the second order..... We got the biggest size again because my pure Pyrenees is a giant. To our surprise (again after measuring everything), it was too small.... now, I figured he grew quite a bit and that has to be it (hes not even a year old yet, but again i measured). That was until I got the one we still had from the last order and compared them. Imagine the annoyance we faced when these two exact SAME sized muzzles, were in fact not the same size as one another. In fact, I couldn't even buckle it on his head, where the other, he 100% still fits. Now for the second one we ordered and received today.... We ordered a 3 for our mix this time around. After (again) measuring his snout. He was in between and we decided this time, because it was so HUGE on him the last time to size down instead. This time it was so small, that it didn't even fit on our pit bull mix. Her snout is much smaller then a full blooded pit bull, length and width. Much smaller then a husky/boarder collie, which is what the recommended bread is for the size 3. Instead, at best, I'd say it would fit a corgi comfortably.Luckily, we kept the one from the first order and the "largest" muzzle from THIS order fits our mix, so we won't actually go without, with a little bit of rigging for a strap, but I would definitely not recommend buying these unless you feel like going back and forth or throwing your money away. I know we won't be back!

Great product. Follow instructions.
Bought this for my Saint Bernard. The thing that we did like about this specific muzzle is/was shaping the muzzle to fit our girls very wide snout.Followed instructions on how to use boiling water, we had a child size sand bucket that was the width needed, after muzzle's time in water we placed muzzle over bucket. The next day, we pulled cooled down muzzle off bucket and it was a perfect fit.
