I personally do add water to this food and my dogs love it! I add hot water and let it soak for ten minutes. I drain off any extra water and they gobble this food up! lol they literally lick their bowls clean!

Hi Wesley, my name is Missy and I work with Instinct! We use Montmorillonite clay in all of our diets as an AAFCO approved natural anti-caking agent to absorb excess moisturizer and keep the food from clumping. Hope this helps!
