This hat was purchased specifically for our camping trip to Alaska, where the mosquito is considered the state bird! I wore this hat and felt very comfortable as they buzzed around me looking for a way in and happily for me, not finding one. The hat feels extremely comfortable on my head, the netting comes down to my shoulders, effectively covering my face and neck. It's lightweight and breathable. It also packs down pretty small for storage. The only downside, is the netting is not removable to just wear as a sun hat. I did try to stuff the netting up into the top of the hat when the coast was clear of mosquitoes. It wasn't terrible but would've been more comfortable if it could easily detach.

I use this when I'm grooming my dogs, blow drying them dry. Effectively keeps dog hair from getting on your face, in your eyes & nose, etc. Must have tool item! You'll thank me for suggesting this!

It is great for working in areas where there are a lot of mosquitos.

I live in SC where it's HOT and oh my goodness the BUGS! We ordered this for me so I could do yardwork without having to worry about the bugs trying to fly into my face. I like to be extra careful so I spray the had with bug repellant as well but even before I started doing that the little bugs couldn't get to me.It's got a strap that secures under your chin and it cinches around the bottom as well so you can get it nice and hard for those flying bastards. The top of the had has cooling vents and the mesh is there as well so you don't have to worry about them finding a sneaky route in.10 out of 10 I absolutely recommend this if you're going to be outdoors for any extended period of time.

I got the tan-colored hat. It works okay against bugs, but if you're going to be moving around, it's unsafe to wear in bright sunlight--simply because you can't see through it.
