Q: Is this for the 58mm or for bigger ones

It is for the Classic, Classic SD, Jetsetter, and Rally... All 58mm. The bigger knives won't fit. BTW... Most of the other 58mm knives are too thick and won't fit. For example, my Manager and Signature are too thick to fit.

Q: Will this fit the alox sd?

It fits the 58mm Alox SD as long as you have the key ring facing outwards

Q: Will the knife only fit with the ring removed?

You remove the knife from your keychain you don’t need the split ring. The fixed loop that is permanently attached to the knife doesn’t need to be removed. It points outward when you “snap” it into the plastic shell.

Q: Will the victorinox rambler be too thick for this?

Tough call. The ones in the compatibility list are all 2-3 tools and I know the rambler is only one more, but frankly I don't think it'll take anything bigger. Hope that helps bud.
