Q: Can I block a number after I have hung up on the caller?

Yes, you will have to go on the caller list, find the number then press the BLOCK CALL red button, and confirm your block by pressing the Menu/OK button to put the number into memory.

Q: Is it possible to turn off the caller id announcement which announces name or the number of callers so i do not have to listen to that ?

It can turn OFF by the following setting. Menu, select "Talking CID", OK, Select the desired setting, OK, Exit.

Q: Can it work so only calls from allowed numbers go through, all others blocked automatically?

You have the ability to block numbers from unwanted calls as they come in or even hours later. They are displayed on the screen which allows you to choose which calls to block or allow. I have had mine for several months and I love the machine. If you block a number and they call again my phone rings only one time and I know it is a number I have previously blocked. It is well worth the money. You have the ability to personally block up to 2000 calls on top of the 14 or 15 thousand that have been pre-blocked for you. I hope this helps.

Q: Will it work connected only connected to it's own phone jack. I want to place it in our TV viewing room, not where the phone is connected.
