Dwarf White Isopods (Qty-25), for Amphibian/Reptile/Invertebrate Bioactive Habitats, by Critters Direct

Ordered same thing from another very popular brand and just saw NOTHING in containers upon arrival. As this Was my first time with ordering “clean up crew” I didn’t trust my eyes. But week later. Nothing moving still. They Didn’t offer money back just analyzed my set up which met every standard. I’m not one to fight for myself and who knows what really happened. So I turned to good old Amazon and found this seller and tried again. And yes- THIS is what I was expecting. Fast shipping - immaculate packaging and THIS seller includes a page full of instructions. Hooray! All alive and well and moved to their new home.Will 100% be back when needed. Very happy!

These little guys came packaged carefully and thriving. Super tiny but a great cleanup crew.

Packaging wise these guys nailed it. Even comes with a care sheet in case the person ordering doesn't know too much about their new critters. The packaging was what every other live dwarf white isopods I ordered came in. With one unfortunate difference. In my original batch only eight were alive - and no they were not playing possum. I had mostly dead ones. I contacted the company, they were polite and immediately sent me a replacement batch. This batch I only had five live dwarf white. I waited two days just in case I was wrong (as I did the first time around) and no movement, no trying to eat they were really dead. Again. At this point I am cutting my losses. I am going to hope that the thirteen live ones I have are enough to kickstart my newest project, if not I will wait for them to be be back in stock from my normal isopod vender.Ultimately I am giving three stars as the thirteen live ones (out of 50 sent) are healthy and seem to be doing well and the company was polite and attentive.

I ordered 25 these for a vivarium in Dec 2019. It was less than 30 degrees Fahrenheit outside so my local post office held them for me. When I brought them home and looked them over I could not find a single lifeless one *but* they were extremely small, around 1mm, which I was initially a little disappointed about because they are advertised as 2-4mm. However, there were definitely at least 10 more than the amount I ordered and they have doubled/tripled in size since then and are clearly reproducing because there are new tiny (and I mean tiny!) ones all the time. I would definitely buy them again.

I live in the cold tundra of Minnesota and had these shipped when the temps were around 30°- 40°. They came in perfect condition and were all alive. Not much more you can ask for. I have them half in a bioactive and half in a culture both are doing great and reproducing. :)

I believe that some have survived the trip, although it is tough to count more than 2 per observation session that are actually movingI have been looking at and for them everyday, watering and feeding them for weeks...i maintain hope that more than a few have survivied

Mine were not moving when I got them, I e-mailed support and they said don't panic, place them in their home and give it 24 hours. I did that and within a few hours they were all moving around. Just so you know, they are all different sizes, from super tiny to adult. 100% recommend these isopods and this company.
