Entertaining and Educational!
I have every book in Chef Arlena's series and this one is especially engaging! I loved using it to help teach my little one about food safety and health in the kitchen. He loves cooking meals with me, so to have these books that are so helpful to tell stories and learn about chefs and cooking, not to mention the cute recipes shared in the books! Very fun and very engaging!

This was a great story and fun way to learn about history. And what a great way to teach young kids, and older kids, the importance of cleanliness and good hygiene habits in the kitchen! The illustrations are engaging and you even get a great recipe! Thanks Chef Arlena!

Love it!
We absolutely loved the book! At first Melany was curious why it was called worst cook in New York! When we read the book. We completely understood why she was the worst cook! What we liked about the book is that it taught us something new. In addition, it explained what certain terms meant so we would receive a full understanding of the book! We a huge history buffs and love learning new things! Great book!

Surprisingly informative!
This book (along with the others in the series) are a reading staple in our house now. They're well written and informative! Great illustrations for younger readers and complex enough for older ones. We'll be learning from these for years to come. ❤

Surprise!
So it took me about halfway through the book when I called out, Typhoid Mary! I hadn’t heard the story, but I had heard of her. What a great, real life example of why we wash hands and why we came to know the seriousness of cross contamination!

An important topic for food safety intertwined with a historical figure
I love these series as the author tells the personal stories of historical people that influenced the culinary world. The illustrations are delightful and these stories are perfect for all ages to learn something new about the history of the culinary experience and much more. The Worst Cook in New York is very engaging for all to learn and understand the importance of food safety. Although, we can feel bad for all involved in the story it has helped to make food safety a priority in modern life.

Great read
Bought this book and a couple others from Chef Arlena for my 7 year daughter to be more involved with me in the kitchen. I had no idea that I'll be learning so much too. My daughter liked the book, and to this day when we wash our hands in the kitchen we mention this book. Chef Arlena, keep writing!!!
