Portable Glass Shop - Use with Morton Surface or Creator's Waffle Grids

This device blew my mind! It makes such short and easy work of making straight cuts, you won't believe it. You also have to purchase the Morton Mini Surface Plus 2-pack grid to go along with it, but the entire purchase is well worth the money. You get dependable, quick, accurate cuts using the shop, and glass chips fall into the waffle grid, keeping your work surface clean, and your hands unbloodied. I've used the protractor for angled cuts, and it's really an easy setup. Any serious stained glass person will welcome this in their shop.

The portable glass shop makes cutting multiple squares, triangles, rectangles, diamonds and other geometric shapes of the same size easy. The system requires some setup and practice to use but the results are well worth the effort. The various parts that come with the system are well-designed and versatile. I was able to cut more than 200 glass squares, rectangles, diamonds, and triangles in less than 3 hours!

Cuts straight lines just like it is supposed to. I tried a metal ruler with double stick tape and everything else I could think of to cut straight lines and they did not work well. This works perfect every time. Looking at it, it seems to be a bit over priced, but it does what it is supposed to do so that's had to argue with.

This is really great for cutting straight pieces. For small pieces, you’re better off just using a ruler, but anything of size, this is a great product. The down side of this product is the instructions are horrible for cutting angles. Morton really needs to make some videos to demonstrate how all the different gizmos work. I use it for 90 degree/right angles a lot. But I’ve just had to figure out a way to do 45s on my own. Also, don’t try to pick up the grid. The segments don’t really lock together and when you try to move it they come apart and all those little bits of glass that were trapped in the grid spill. I taped a piece of foam core board to the back of mine so I could move it around when I needed space.

Picture shows 22" bar and package size is listed as 29". What was received was a 15" bar in a box 16" long.

This is a great product.

Works for straight cuts, as a strip cutter, and for some angles. Does not work for angles on Creators waffle grid using the numbering system supplied. Beware if you want to use this on a Creators waffle grid. Limited easy use on Creators grid.
