Yes, the plug is removable so you can do as you wish. The only drawback if you require to fix the 2 way plug socket to the wall or the cabinet is the two keyhole shaped holes in the back are not in line. I placed a piece of cardboard over them and skewered through it into the holes to make a template. Line the card up with the top edge of the socket so after drilling the holes its level.
