Q: Will this device skip a dose to avoid taking doses too close together or "double dosing"?

I am not exactly sure what you're asking but you will set up the time for the doses to come out of the machine. As an example our machine is set to go off every 4 hours and I set the times for 8am 12 pm 8pm and 12 am. you can set up for 6 doses a day if need be. The only way to skip a dose is to flip the machine over when the alarm goes off and get the pill out.

No it doesn't. Absolutely love mine. has helped out with my mother tremendously!!

Q: Do the refill trays have locks? I would like to leave them for caregivers, but don't want the trays to be able to be opened (by my clever dad).

it comes with keys( not an actual key) it has a round end and you put it in the bottom of the tray to lock and unlock. I keep the keys hidden so it cannot be opened except by me.

The alarm keeps ringing until you tip the machine and release the pills, so you cannot forget
