Q: does this item come with a carring case ?

Mine came with an aluminum carrying case.

Q: Having a difficulty calibrating. Instruction are for multi angle unit. Does anyone know correct way to calibrate on a marble floor?

You don’t calibrate it to the floor. The unit comes with a calibration tool that you simply place the unit on and then press the calibrate button. Should calibrate at an even 100.

Q: When i place the unit against a polished brass surface, it reads 207. when i press meas button, there is no change. i doubt if reading is accurate.

It seems the gloss meter may have a slight calibration issue with highly polished surfaces. I checked with the documentation and the range should not exceed 200. However, on the high gloss end of the range the differences range is very wide.Possibly factory has additional answers

Q: Could one use this to determine the light reflectance value (lrv) of paint?

The meter is fairly accurate for determining gloss values at 60 degrees. It should work fine for that purpose. However if you are doing Mil-Spec reporting, I would suggest looking at other units.I bought several units for my suppliers and they did not agree when reading the same samples.
