I've owned a FLEXi dog leash for years now and it still works great. 2 new puppies have come into our lives and we decided to buy 2 new FLEXi leashes. Female dogs get pink leashes.Now for the good stuff. The ergonomics of this product are great. Years of making dog leashes has payed off and the German engineering and production wins again. This is a one-handed leash. Everything can be done with one hand. It will extend up to 16 feet long and can be stopped anywhere in that range by pushing the HOLD button. You can also lock it at any length by pushing the LOCK button all with one hand. No more leash wrapped around your pet's legs etc.Important note: We purchased a cheaper leash and immediately returned it. Reason why? Look closely at the picture of this leash. See the 16 inch flat ribbon-like material between the cord and the latch? If you were to drop the reel and it was extended very long it would stop before striking your pet. The leash also comes with a safety collar that goes around the pet's neck like an extra collar and you attach the latch to the safety collar and the pet's collar or harness. This is to safeguard for the pet owner. If the loop on the pet's collar or harness should fail the safety collar would stop the cord from flying back and hitting you. Good thinking. Also the flat ribbon area has a loop in case you should have to take control of your pet in an emergency. Back to the leash that we sent back. It didn't have any of these safety features, so it went back.5 Stars and it deserves more. Several sizes available, from the small version that we purchased up to a large for those big dogs.

I am a slacker when it comes to leaving reviews but ironically depend on them a lot when making purchases. I'll leave a review when something is really good or really bad, lol. This leash falls into the category of EXCELLENT!Firstly I love the design of the leash. Simple, durable, and the button stops him in his tracks with ease. That's one of the first things that I noticed and really liked about this leash was how sensitive the stop button seem to be. Sensitive in a good way with a firm and reliable ability to halt my little psychopath when perhaps he's gotten a little too ahead of me.The second thing that I love the most about this leash is the length. I live in a condo with plenty of public area to walk my chihuahua. He loves to burst out into a sudden run at times, and this leash allows for it which is great! I've included a photo of him run-jumping through the air on his new leash and it cracks me up every time I look at it lol. He was having a VERY good time...All in all this leash is exactly what I wanted. Obviously as far as longevity goes or if it gets stretched out and tangled after 10 uses, I cannot speak to. But so far, it's the BEST retractable leash that I've ever owned.I purchased the medium size with the longer cord length of the two options. For my 7 pound, 7 month old chihuahua, it's a 10/10 purchase and I recommend it 100%.- Amanda

I have a very energetic 24lbs dog, and I have owned the 16ft Corded version for several years. My dog can have some attitude and he would occasionally bite the Ribbon Lead and the damage accumulated. So I needed a replacement and decided to get both a Cord Version and a Ribbon version.Mine was an older versions and I was thrilled that the new ones are just as good, or even better than the old version.If you never owned a retractable leash, please note it takes time to get use to. It is awkward at first as you may want to grab the Ribbon or Cord. My advice is think of it like fishing, you kind of lock and pull and then release the brake and let it reel in as you feed toward the slack.The Corded version is a bit smaller, and there is a "lead" Ribbon that is about 18" that is not reeled in. The Ribbon version reels all the way in to the clasp. I got use to the having the lead with the corded version when hooking to my dog's collar but I quickly got use to doing this without the lead on the all ribbon version. (people training thing)Aside from the slight difference in size, the difference between them is the amount of drag. The cord has little "drag" and oddly my dog had trouble gauging how far out he was. The Ribbon has slightly more drag but don't take this wrong, the difference is subtle and he seems to like it better as there is more feel to it.I have had zero issues with both leashes, they both really perform well. Smooth, no jamming, no tangling, good brake action. But I, and my dog seem to prefer the full Ribbon version.

Classic Cord Retractable Dog Leash: I have a really simple retractable Cord (not Tape) Flexi brand leash that was purchased in 1989 when I got my first puppy. It lasted through her 15 years and then I used it for my second puppy and it lasted through his 16 years. I now have a third puppy and she chewed through it because we didn't realize it fell where she could reach it ... and she is still teething. Needless to say I am very happy that I have found pretty much the same exact simple retractable Cord Flexi brand leash. From my past experience I feel like $9 is well worth the years to come enjoying walks with my current and any additional pups to come. The old leash fit my hand so well that I measured it and bought a medium and the new one fits just as good. The new one's brake is shaped a little different but works exactly the same. When the cord is retracted back in, it is very smooth, just like the old one. I never experienced any issues with retraction on my old one through all those years and walks. My experience this far with the new leash is great and works just like my old one. This Flexi retractable leash is one product-brand that I most definitely recommend based on my purchase many years ago. Only time will tell of course, but as of now this cord retractable leash is working great.
