Great Mat!
It's a good size for working on pistols but my girlfriend complains it's hard on her back. She complains about everything though, like if she's not on a bed. She hates the back seat of my Subaru too. But I think this may is excellent for all kinds of jobs.

Just like a Giant Useful Mousepad
Pay attention to the size, it is pretty big, that is not a negative, but it was something that struck me when I received mine. That said, this is an excellent mat. Has very legible descriptions and diagrams, with no errors, some nice footnotes, etc. It appears to be pretty durable, and is made of exactly the same material as my mousepad, but larger. In fact, I'm using it as a mousepad as we speak :)I imagine it will get dirty with cleaning, so I plan on using a microfiber cloth to lay over the pad while cleaning, but use the pad as a cushion and reference of sorts. Will update my review if I notice anything worth mentioning in the future.

Nice cleaning mat
The first thing that struck me about this mat was that it was larger than I was expecting -- which is a good thing. There should be plenty of room for you to tear your gun down completely and spread all of the small parts out, as well as keeping your cleaning materials on here. I do wish it was a little bit thicker, though. The expanded view of the gun is pretty cool and educational and helps you learn what parts you're looking at and where they go. The quality of the blow-up is not absolutely fantastic, but it's good enough. This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for and will probably be ordering another.

Good bench mat
I really like this mat. For a long time (decades) I used a cheap felt mat that I bought from an online discount outdoors shop located in MN. Yeah, it did its job, but it was rather small and felt attracts debris that you just can't remove easily (fuzz & stuff). Then one Christmas my wife bought me an Otis bench mat. Much better material, but a little too big for my preference (although to be fair, it has a lot of extra room for long gun work). This TekMat is the best of both worlds. It is, in my opinion, a perfect size, and the material is on a par with the Otis brand mats... even better, I think. And then there's the "cool factor" with the exploded parts diagram printed onto the mat. How long that printing will last after a few spills & such is unknown, but at least for the moment it has a wow factor to it. Surprisingly sharp detail in the printing, too. I do armorer work for a local PD... they use Glocks, so this mat has the added benefit that I get to look at a REAL pistol while working on those. ;-) [Let the negative "Was this review helpful?" votes & comments begin!] Anyway, bottom line is I enjoy this mat and would recommend it to anyone doing bench work.Another review I read commented that this mat was too thin. I'm not 100% sure I agree with that. It's about as thick as the Otis mat I mentioned earlier, and certainly much thicker than the felt pad I was using before. It _is_ a more "floppy" material than the Otis, I'll grant you that; but I like the floppiness because the mat can be folded and stuck in an armorers kit easily. This is just my opinion, yours may vary; but then, reviews are subjective anyway, right?

Overpriced
The novelty of this is cool but it’s probably the worst execution possible. The writing on it is so small there’s no way you’re reading it or looking at the picture. It’s the size and consistence of a mouse pad.

Great
This mat is perfect. Just like you see on the counter at the local firearms shop/range. Perfect for cleaning my Sig P226 MK 25. I use this often and when I am not-it looks great on the work bench in the garage. Bonus-if you forgot how you took your P226 apart you can just look down on the mat for instructions.

Awesome.
Bought it as a gift and now have to buy myself one.Just a cool mat to clean your gun or even have as a mouse pad.I like the exploded view of the gun so you can break it down with ease and not have to look it up on the internet.Well made and holds up well.On the fence? Get it.

good bang for the buck
I was very happy with the mat when I received it. It is a great size, and has cushioning in the back so it won't slide around as you are cleaning the gun. The exploded view of the gun showing all parts is attractive and functional. The only drawback is that the surface is not impervious to damage from the various solvents and substances used in the cleaning process, making it curl up on the sides. I now simply throw a rag or small towel over it when using the solvents. Overall it is still a good product, and good bang for the buck.
