H7 X-treme bulb: at first a major disappointment but then found to be great!
April 2016: I installed one bulb on right side... not easy to do in my 2007 Saab 9.5. After all the time, pain, and care using rubber gloves, I find that this bulb is perhaps 10% less bright than the ordinary H7 bulb I have NOT changed on the left side. Needless to say I will NOT spend the time and energy to change the other bulb.September 2016: Above review is erroneous! I had replaced the high beam when I thought it was the low beam and so my test of the bulb was totally inaccurate. Make sure you know which bulb is high beam and which is low! Later in the summer I determined that the X-treme bulb WAS much brighter. So on 9/20/16 I had my mechanic replace the left side high beam with the same X-treme vision H7 and both low-beams with a different model Philips H7 lamp. Of course I now have all new light bulbs and they ARE bright! I recommend that you replace all your bulbs if you think your bulbs are old and you cannot see very well at night when it is raining. The cost is minimal and the savings could be your life. My lenses are very clear and so were not an issue. Replace your lenses if you cannot get them to clear up with a cleaning liquid. Also my 2007 Saab 9.5 DOES have four H7 bulbs which is not clear in the Owner's Manual. Further if you are replacing all four bulbs you may want to do just as I did: put the X-treme Vision bulbs in the high beam location, and a bright general purpose Philips bulb in the low beam positions (outside bulbs both left and right). The X-treme Vision has a fairly narrow beam spread so that it can penetrate a great distance as claimed. Note: My mechanic installed the right side low beam bulb upside down. I could tell that something was wrong by comparing the two low beams; the left side seemed normal (looking at the beam on my white garage door when closed) but the right side was very low and did not light the road very well. I knew that the bulb should be installed with the bulb base rotated so that the flat side would be on the BOTTOM. I guessed that the flat side was on the top. I decided to rotate the bulb myself first removing the air intake hose and then displacing the mass airflow meter taking care to not pull on the associated wiring harness. This is all done to gain better access to the right low-beam bulb. After removing the rubber over, I pulled the wire plug off the bulb, then released the spring clip holding the bulb. It was then quite easy to rotate the bulb 180 degrees. I used a large makeup mirror held by a plastic covered wire to check progress. Once rotated I completed the installation in reverse order making sure that the mass airflow meter and intake air hose were installed correctly. Fortunately the mating parts have large male-female indents making it nearly impossible to assemble incorrectly.

Whoa, Lasted 3 yrs!!
I bought these 3 years ago almost to the day. I didn't realize that until we had our first cold snap recently and a bulb went out. That's pretty impressive for any halogen bulb, let alone a specialty. More than happy to purchased another pair.I'm also very pleased with not only it's durability, but the output. It's only slightly brighter than standard (stock) bulbs, but the clarity and color is much better. It's white white, with a slight lean towards cooler temperatures (ie blue). And they're in a category just below 'burn the retinas of oncoming traffic and forward rearviews' so I don't need to blind everyone around me to see better for "increased" safety.

60% brighter compared to generic bulbs
I was using a generic no brand H7 bulb in a reflector headlight (Skoda Octavia TDI 2005) and I was barely able to see. I proceeded to alight the headlights witch improved visibility by 200% (it was really bad and light was pointing down too much) but was still not happy with output. Thus I searched for Halogen lights with bigger output. since this claimed to give +130% ( over double output) I purchased them. For the record, they do not provide +130% OVER normal bulbs. in fact the don't even provide +80% and here is how they come to this number. +130% is over standard bulbs since standard bulbs are 45W @ 12v (3.25amp) then a 55W @ 13.8 bulb is 120% (or 20% over standard) the other 10% is based on light output being closer to daylighting white and using a hotter filament. theses numbers are not derived from Lumen or lux that being said they do offer more lux compared to standard at the cost of lifespan.if I was the me from 3 weeks ago I would opt for the standard German made bulbs since they would give me 90% of the light at 1/3 of the price and would last 2x more.

This is the second time I purchase this item.
The color of the light is almost white and match the description. The bulb fit to my car and it was very easy for installation. The bulb quality is very good and function as it should be.Very good value for money.
