Q: How is the Teacher Pro different from the School Pro? They look like they are basically the same. I don't see the benefit of one over the other.

I have both the Teacher Pro and the School Pro and both work great except the teacher Pro takes longer to sharpen a pencil. Which may not be a problem for home or small use. In a classroom of 26 it is very ANNOYING. If the pencil isn't pushed in far enough - common with 7 yr olds- it takes even longer. Both will clog a little if sharpening pencils with the wrappers on them. But seems to clean out with a little manual rotating. I have had the School Pro (home use) for over 10 years. Thinking of switching them out .

Q: Can I use this pencil sharpener for colored pencils?

A: It is best not to use it on color pencils. Be careful not to use pencils that have plastic wrapping around them, especially the glittery covering. That extra outer layering ruins the sharpener. Your warranty might not cover damage caused by using color pencils.

Q: My daughter has gone through several pencil sharpeners because of plastic gearing mechanisms. Are the gears plastic or metal?

The gears are metal. I have two Z-ACTO pencil sharpeners, one of which is the Teacher Pro Electric. With 26-27 students they last 2-3 years before the metal gears need to be replaced.

Q: Mine just arrived & is missing the rubber footing on one circle. This is a real problem & it's out of the box! How do I get this fixed?
