Misaligned aperture blades
Mine arrived from B&H last week with misaligned aperture blades right out of the box. A couple of complete turns of the aperture ring to max and min f-stops and they returned to normal operation as far as I can tell. But after reading the other review here, I realize I am the 3rd person to encounter this problem. Is this a common fault with this lens?! A $9k lens from Leica should not have this kind of problem! I am calling the seller tomorrow to talk about this problem.

Not working properly right out of the box! Update: Bought one that works - Best Lens I have owned
Faulty lens right out of the box - so disappointing! The aperture blades don’t work the way they are supposed to. They do not open and close in a circle but rather except at the smallest aperture the shape is hugely assymetric - big blob on one side. The aperture ring also doesn’t go all the way to f2 because the blades won’t cooperate.Of course this says nothing about a working sample. I am posting this here however because in making the decision to buy I saw a review on another site with the identical problem. Since the two samples came from different retailers one assumes it is not the same lens!Update: I have since acquired one with a working aperture ring and have used it extensively. Fantastic lens. I am using in now on a Nikon Z7 where the TTL focusing aids help out my aging eyesight. I also have the Nikon 50Z for when I want autofocus. That lens is no slouch but the Leica APO is even sharper with wonderful color rendition and bokeh and it is my default lens on the Nikon.
