Best toe warmers I've tried
I wear these for biking when the temperature falls below 35 F. I wear a wool sock, a goretex sock, the toe warmers, regular cycling shoes and neoprene booties. My feet are toasty! Once i made the mistake of putting the toe warmers under my goretex socks; they got no air so lost their warmth. The important thing to remember is that the warmers need some air to work properly. My cycling shoes are mesh as they are for warm weather riding normally. I guess the booties don't keep out all of the air to my feet. If you try these toe warmers and they don't seem to work, make adjustments. They really do work in the right conditions.

HOTHANDS Toe Warmers
I got these because I go to campfires in the winter. I put the on the bottom of my sock right where my toes are and they seem to be ok. In the dead winter, standing around the fire, my toes still get quite cold and numb. If I keep my feet off the ground they stay warm. Not sure if it's because the warmers don't get enough oxygen or not. They're still warm to the touch after 4 hours of usage. Definitely recommend if you're going to be staying idle in cold weather.

These work very well, if...
Be sure to have tight-fitting socks, with as little slip as possible. If they are stuck to the bottom of the sock then they will easily bunch-up as your foot enters a boot; more than likely with a ski boot. I found that sticking them on top of my toes worked better - both for entering the boot without issue and the warming effect. As with all of these types of warmers, make certain to leave them out in open air for a while and toss it around, before locking it away in a boot; airflow is essential to get these skinny toe warmers going.

Okay but not great
Not sure if my expectations were too high, but these were very uncomfortable to wear. I have Raynauds in my toes and wanted to wear them so I could run outdoors in the winter. They actually hurt my feet when I was running. I do wear them around if I know I am going to be outside for an extended period of time or in a chilly place (indoor soccer field, ice rink, etc.) and they are warm but not as warm as I thought they would be.

They Work Best in a Pocket
I bought these for the Inauguration in January. Turned out that the weather wasn't quite as cold as we expected so I didn't use most of them. They work best when you leave them in a pocket but they also worked well inside of my glove (on the cold nights we spent sightseeing). I would buy them again (although hoping they last for 3 years as stated so I won't have to buy any for a long time).

These barely work!
I had never used toe warmers before, but when I started riding my bicycle this winter, I quickly realized I needed something like this. Although I use insulated cycling shoes, my toes would get quite cold after an hour or so if the temp was less than 25 degrees. The Hothands toe warmers seemed to get decent reviews on amazon, so i thought I'd give them a shot.As per the directions, I opened the package and stuck them to the bottom of my wool socks. They emitted a slight warmth, which I figured would become more pronounced with a little time. The packaging said they'd reach full temperature in 15-30 minutes. Then I put on my boots and headed out. Unfortunately, at no point in my ride (20-25 degrees) did I actually sense any warmth at all from these little buggers. When I got home after about a two-hour ride, my toes were quite cold. This is exactly what happened the last ride I took at the same temperature... but without any toe warmers. Thus, I can say with the confidence that comes with experience: these things do not work. Yes, when I peeled them off my socks after the ride, I could still sense an ever-so-subtle warmth coming from them, but it was too negligible to make a difference. When I studied the package more closely, it stated that the 'average temperature' of the product was 97 degrees. That's cooler than body temperature! The peak temp the Hothands toe warmers could reach was only 115 degrees, said the labeling. Compare that to some Grabber handwarmers I had laying around the house-- their average temp was 135 degrees and peak was 156. That's more like it!Anyway, I'm returning these...

Some great but many defective or old
I bought these to soothe pain because I cannot use an electric heating pad anymore and I need something cheaper than thermacare. Th e first set was fabulous, long lasting, high heat and the s size is perfect for joint pain. They were all great except two.I bought another set and the first two were great, the next four lasted only two hours, and now I opened four and they are defective, expired, or used, solid as concrete and will not get hot. I am so upset because the first set was great. I am going to try another seller assuming they could be years older than recommended? Meanwhile, I can onlt judge them to be inconsistent, which is not acceptable.. if I get a great batch from a third seller, perhaps that will answer the question.

last many hours
use these ALL the time... I know they're generally used for skiing. This past winter was so frigid, I bought a large pack and used them daily. They last so long that, often, they worked on my way to work and were still warm enough to be warm for when I did other things outside throughout the day (wouldn't count on them lasting till the end of a work day, but they last many hours!).
