Almost perfect...
Hard to find a better knife. It's almost perfect. Its little brother, the 3.5 Fieldcraft, has a version that is perfect. One that has a sharp 90 degree backbone and not the stub on the end for striking the ferro rod. The 90 backbone is what Tops needs to do with this knife. Now you can use the tip of the back of the blade to strike the ferro rod so it works, but still needs a version with a complete 90 degree backbone. This one has the little rounded notch on the hilt to strike the ferro rod, but that can also cut your lanyard off. I'd still buy this again, but I carry the little 3.5 way more often.

Knife review
I bought this knife because the steel is 154CM steel and is famous for holding a good edge. No disappoints here. Very well made knife .

Beautiful piece.
I purchased this as a gift to self for 25 years of service. I really don't intend to put it to serious use but if I needed to, I wouldn't have an worries. It looks and feels heavy duty but I just love the way it looks.

Great knife!
I was waiting a whole year for this knife. For some reasons Tops were not in a hurry to make them in 154CM. BUT! The wait was worth it. Superb knife.

This is the one the best bushcraft knives
This is the one the best bushcraft knives. The only thing you can't use it on is a ferro rod since the spine is coated and rounded. Beyond that, it can handle any task you throw at it.Update: Through use of the bottom groove on the knife, you can strike a ferro rod easily. I have an uberleben ferro rod, and using the groove on the knife. You can usually start a fire within three strikes.

Great knife, great steel, careful about the handle though...
I have the Tops BOB tan canvas micarta 1095. Love it to death. I have a decent knife collection for outdoor use (Bushcraft, camp craft, whatever you want to call it...). I bought this because it’s 154CM, and wanted a version slightly more corrosion resistant.Beware, not all items sold on Amazon with Micarta in the name are Micarta. This was G10 (NOT a knockoff... just mislabeled). The ref & Black does not come in Micarta. The G10 scales are slightly thinner than the canvas micarta, but enough that I noticed it immediately. I’m keeping it. It’s an excellent knife. The handle is still better than most. However I’m a Micarta snob. So, make sure to double check on the TOPS website which color/pattern is which material.Other than that, still a great knife. Even though it’s the wrong material, it’s “a beaut”. If you have a slightly smaller hand, it may be a perfect fit (I’m a med-large). G10 is a good material. There are pros and cons for both. If you haven’t had G10, and you want to try one, not a bad choice. The Micarta version though... my god that’s a comfy handle.

Good quality
Haven't used the knife yet but it's good and sturdy.

... lot of other knives trying to get one as good as the name brands
I bought a lot of other knives trying to get one as good as the name brands. They are not as good!!! This knife is beautiful to look at (I bought the red handles), but none of the others will cut like this. Mine is the stainless steel model. Great for Ohio weather.
