Liked it so much, I bought another one
I had a co-worker tell me about humidifiers that used water bottles and I was like, wow, I need to check that out! I researched several models on Amazon and read lots of reviews. I am happy with my choice on this model. When it first came, I had a really hard time pushing the adaptor into the top of the water bottle and was afraid that I didn't have the right kind of water bottle. I was using a 16.9 oz water bottle. After pushing with all of my strength straight down on the adaptor, it fit snug into the bottle. After that first time of struggle, I had no further issues and am able to push the adaptor in with less pressure. The reviews are right that if you set the dial past the half way point, it will last only 6-8 hours, maybe less depending on how high you turn it. The first night, I think I had the dial just shy of 3/4 of the way to the fullest setting. I would say it lasted only 6-7 hours. The next night, I set the dial closer to half way and it lasted closer to 8-9 hours. I feel that at half way or just a pinch past on the dial offers sufficient mist. It also will last a little longer if you use a 20 oz water bottle as well.I was so please with the first purchase, that I actually purchased another unit about a week later. After using that one for about 2 or 3 nights, it suddenly stopped working. Had no power. I used the plug from my other unit and it worked, so I knew I had a faulty plug. I called the customer service number for Perfect Aire and within a few moments of conversation, the customer service rep was telling me they would send out a new plug. I received it in the mail in a few days. Very satisfied with their customer service.Whether you plan to use this unit for home, work, or travel, I would definitely recommend it. And yes, the unit does turn off when the water is empty and the indicator light on the front is a bit bright at night. I placed a piece of electrical tape over it and problem solved.

Would not work after 3 uses.
Worked very well for 2 uses. On the third use, I plugged it in, connected the cord to the unit and put the water bottle on. The light that should be red and turn green when the unit it turned on would not even light. Apparently according to Amazon I only had 30 days to return. I will attempt to contact the company, but this may just be a total loss.Update: Contacted the company and they told me there is a one year warranty. They took my information and sent an email with instructions for the replacement. In a week I received a replacement that is working so far.

A bit of humidity each day in a single room
A cheap bottle of water, easily handled, easily flipped over and there is humidity each day. Regular humidifier reservoirs require extensive water-filling, are heavy to lift and carry AND not always easy to flip to connect with the hole. This solves all the issues of large units and simply augments what the furnace humidifier does. I didn't know such a thing existed until I saw one at my aunt's house - and have since ordered one for the living room and one for the bedroom. A nifty invention.

Works as it should, some quirks.
Ordered for trips, because dry hotel air from the heaters makes us congested and sleep bad. Replacing a old unit that wore out, different brand no longer available. Got this a bit late, when it did arrive, set up was pretty much like our old one, using a bottle of water for the source. This units problem is the bottle connection doesn't screw directly to the bottle like our old one did. This has a push in piece with a o-ring seal that you shove into the bottles opening, THEN a threaded adapter that screws on to that, that has the water stop valve in it. Problem is, the piece that you are supposed to stuff into the bottles opening, is very snug, causing you to grip the plastic bottle tightly while inserting the piece, and you end up squeezing the bottle to hard squirting water out. If you put the water valve on the bottle adapter first, it creates a total air block, and you can't push the bottle neck adapter in because of back pressure. You end up having to pour out or drink some of the water, to get this two piece adapter into the bottle. Not a huge thing, but, our old one just screwed directly on the bottles threads and went right in with no spilling or squirting water.Operation wise, this works as any ultrasonic humidifier, and puts out a good amount of vapor, that comes out the little (separate piece) directional nozzle. Only set up one day, and all worked okay after the messy water bottle thing, so can't speak to longevity yet. I imagine it will last a good amount of time for what it is. For travel it's a great thing to have. This unit didn't have a carry case, or bag like our last model did either, I'll find something to put all the parts in for our travels. That's my take on the humidifier.
