I can't say as to where it is made however, the packaging it came in was made in China. I can say it works to clean frames, pry apart the stuck components of a hive. Cleans the queen excluder and scrapes well. The handle is a good fit to my hand although the rivets stand a bit proud but wearing gloves you cant tell. The bent end of the tool works well to push on when prying and scraping. The metal is thick enough that it will outlast my lifetime. Almost everything is made in China now and after doing some research on line, I have found that China has a vast honey bee industry so they too use some things they make over there. Hope this helps.

Q: 'How' does the frame-cleaner function actually work for this tool?

I’m not sure if you’re referring to cleaning propolis off of the frames, or a Queen excluder? But it works great for both. I use this tool often and I’m glad I bout it. It’s definitely worth $12.
