Q: Is this item new in box?

Well my first one for my daughter was. I ordered another one and it was not and I suspect was a return from another customer.

Q: Is the ion titanium flat iron dual voltage?

I'm not sure what dual voltage is....There are 3 buttons on it... Power, degrees up, and degrees down. There is also a screen that tells you how hot it is. I absolutely love this iron. Hope that answers your question.

Q: Does this work pretty well with thick/wavy hair! - medium length?

I have thick wavy to curly hair that was shoulder length and it works well but I’d recommend that you also blow it very very dry first and use a straightening product to make it easier. It takes me a long time to do it but it does work. I usually do 12 swipes per section.

Q: Does it have anything on the tips to prevent burning your fingers?

No. Using it I don't put my fingers on the 32nd of it though. It is easy to use. I've had no burns.
