Q: Were do you put the sd card

The digital recorder has the 8GB inbuilt into the device, so there is no need for an sd card. To save space, transfer files onto a separate usb/sd card. And then format the device every once in a while to restore the 8GB memory. Hope that helps!

Of course, you can name each recording file by connecting to the computer using usb

The recorder has a usb slot so it can be charged via a PC or a plug

Q: What software does it use? is it a older version of windows? i have no p.c,only a phone, will the software work with android phones to transfer files?

The device is like connecting a Thumb drive to a PC so appears as another drive when viewed connected to a “computer” via USB mini cable. If you have connected Thumb drives to your smart phone and have say VLC app on it, suspect you should be able to download recordings from this device to the phone.
