Does the 6 and 9 mm eyepieces really weight over 12 oz? that seems awfully heavy. the similar 6 & 9 mm svbony redband 68* eyepieces weigh under 6 oz.

Do these work for a 4 inch telescope

Hi dear friend,

the telescope eyepiece set fit any standard 1.25" telescope, filter and Barlow lens, 6mm and 9mm is high power magnification eyepiece and fit to observation more details of objects; 15/20mm is medium power magnification eyepiece, which will bring comfortable view experience. low power magnification get better clear and bright image than high power eyepiece, but this is optics common sense. hope can help you.

Aside from cosmetic stuff, is the "gold band" 6mm the same as the "red band" 6mm? Is one or the other better for planetary use?

If you say "red" 6mm is B07CCKFDZY, the difference between the two is as follows:Field of view is different "gold" 6mm (B07JWDFMZ4) is 66 degrees; "red" 6mm (B07CCKFDZY) is 68 degrees.
Both are capable of planetary observations, but B07CCKFDZY is more suitable.
